A week ago today I was eating seafood Bento Iro-Iro with Salmon, miso soup, and fresh salad, out of a traditional Japanese black lacquered box at one of Atlanta's finest Asian restaurants, Silk. Today I'm eating tuna fish out of a traditional American see through Rubbermaid dish. Obviously there is no comparison however, there is great fun in the contrasts.
Yesterday I ate New England clam chowder out of a coffee cup with a plastic spoon while studying Spanish Grammar. A week ago I was eating delicious fire roasted meats, endless cheese filled rolls, fried plantains, and the finest and freshest vegetables and cheeses off the salad bar at Brazilian restaurant Fogo de Chao. I enjoyed this all while studying the directions to the massage parlor we were headed to after lunch. (See the fun)
I'm sure on Thursday my lunch will be similar to tuna or clam chowder while the previous Thursday I was eating gourmet hand crafted Latin tapas at Pura Vida and enjoying the sights of the city.
Last week Regina and I were on vacation. We remodeled half of our home, which was hardly any fun, and we took the rest of the time we had and enjoyed fine dining around the city.
Now were back in the grind of things. Yesterday I had a lukewarm soup and pushed to finish a video project for one of my classes. Work was laborious as usual and it wore me out so much I had to take a nice hot bath when I got home. Despite the difficulties that are our weekdays, we sure have fun when we can--but what's even funnier to me is thinking about what about how different these adjacent weeks are.
